To the former life I yield

To the former life I yield

passing across the flaming firmament

time to speak and know my might

the forgotten years pass me by

endless rolling of brambled leaves

crushing their siblings under foot

leaving bare fingers outstretched

gnarled and bent after their ways

a world has come anew

glistening, it sings its years

caution for the ray of light

piercing deep, it makes its mark

transcending all, being all

a feat to behold
